The speciality of the basavana is the shiva lingu on its forehead. Temple is very well maintained . It's less crowded and very peaceful. They serve prasadam in the afternoon. Just 3 km from kukke it's a must visit temple. It is 800 years old temple which used to be very famous but gotten abandoned when the area around it was forced to evacuate because of a deadly diesese . However recently they have started to establish the temple more so you will see the temple board all over kukke subramanya.
